Best Coffee Shops in Paris

Coffee shops you need to visit in Paris

Here it is... the post you've been waiting for. At least one I've been planning for months. All the best coffee shops and cafes in Paris.

I definitely ventured to quite a few in the 7 months I was living near Paris. Most weekends were filled with me trying to make it to as many new ones as I possibly could.

Some are classics and some of the lesser-known spots made the list. There are still cafes I haven't tried but I've rounded up my personal favorites for you so far.

77 Rue Galande, 75005 Paris

A famous and hard to miss spot just steps away from Shakespeare and Co and Notre Dame. Make sure to try their famous cream puff pastries as well.

37 Rue de la Bûcherie, 75005 Paris

If you didn't know like me, there's a cafe right next to the famous Shakespeare and Co bookstore, this one may be more crowded and small but still a good spot for a quick break strolling around the city.

51 Galerie de Montpensier, 75001 Paris

This cafe is located inside Palais Royal and a must-visit. It's pretty small inside but there's seating outside to enjoy your coffee when it's warm.

19 Rue du Pont aux Choux, 75003 Paris

What is possibly the smallest cafe in Paris but worth a visit to what used to be a shoe repair shop (cordonnerie) with the original facade still in place. Be prepared to most likely take your coffee to go.

17 Rue du Pont Louis-Philippe, 75004 Paris

I stumbled upon this one when walking by in Le Marias and had to go in. After you grab a coffee you can also rent a bike or book a bike tour around Paris.

75019, 39 Quai de la Loire, 75019 Paris

A very unique cafe on the Canal St. Martin that is inside a house with different rooms where you can sip your coffee and eat. Including even a bathroom to sit in the tub, although you may have to wait to grab this popular spot.

55 Rue Charlot, 75003 Paris

So this is actually a juice bar but I wanted to include it in my list of favorites because it still serves great coffee as well as other options and it's vegan, which is harder to find in Paris.

3 Rue Neuve Popincourt, 75011 Paris

This place I found through a favorite writer of mine, Lindsey Tramuta, in her book The New Paris, which you can find in the cafe to read.

80 Rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud, 75011 Paris

I discovered The Hood Paris from Youtubers Damon and Jo where I met them at a French-language event they hosted there. Needless to say, it's one of Damon's favorite cafes to visit.

7 Rue Saint-Marc, 75002 Paris

This cafe was started by a couple from New York City who moved to Paris and wanted a convenient and healthy place to eat. It quickly became my favorite brunch spot with the most delicious food and the best atmosphere.

More favorites and where to find them:

54 Rue de Saintonge, 75003 Paris

76 Rue des Tournelles, 75003 Paris

10 Rue de la Grange aux Belles, 75010 Paris

53 Avenue Trudaine, 75009 Paris

86 Rue de l'Université, 75007 Paris

There are many more places you can find coffee in Paris but I hope these give you a place to start on your next visit. If you make it to any of these or have a favorite of your own make sure to let me know! I (obviously) always love discovering new ones to try when I'm there.

A bientôt, maddie
